2026 World Cup: 33 Eredivisie players selected, the largest PSV supplier

The 2026 World Cup will see a strong representation of the Eredivisie, with 33 players summoned from different continents. PSV Eindhoven sent ten internationals, ahead of Feyenoord and Ajax. A significant jump for the Dutch championship compared to the previous edition.
The 2026 World Cup promises to be exceptional for the Eredivisie. No less than 33 players playing this season in the Dutch league are on the official lists unveiled for the world's flagship football competition. This is a new record for the Eredivisie, which had sent 19 players to the last 32-team World Cup.
PSV Eindhoven clearly dominates the Dutch contingent: the reigning champion sees ten of his players selected, including Esmir Bajraktarevic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sergiño Dest and Ricardo Pepi (United States), Matej Kovár (Czech Republic), Armando Obispo (Curaçao), Ivan Perisic (Croatia), Ismael Saibari and Anass Salah-Eddine (Morocco), Guus Til (Netherlands) and Paul Wanner (Austria).
Feyenoord followed with five representatives: Jordan Bos (Australia), Anis Hadj Moussa (Algeria), In-beom Hwang (South Korea), Ayase Ueda and Tsuyoshi Watanabe (Japan). On the Ajax side, four players will go to the World Cup: Ko Itakura and Takehiro Tomiyasu (Japan), Josip Sutalo (Croatia) and Wout Weghorst (Netherlands).
PEC Zwolle has three selected (Sherel Floranus for Curaçao, Jamiro Monteiro for Cape Verde and Ryan Thomas for New Zealand), while Telstar sees Tyrick Bodak and Tyrese Noslin retained with Curaçao.

FC Volendam also contributes with Juninho Bacuna and Brandley Kuwas, both called by Curacao. At the NEC, Deveron Fonville also joins the ranks of Curacao, while Koki Ogawa will defend the colors of Japan.
Other clubs include players like Mateo Chávez (AZ, Mexico), Ramiz Zerrouki (FC Twente, Algeria), Zidane Iqbal (FC Utrecht, Iraq), Ajdin Hrustic (Heracles Almelo, Australia) and Shurandy Sambo (Sparta Rotterdam, Curaçao).
In theory, Ahmetcan Kaplan (Ajax, loaned to NEC) could become the 34th player of the Eredivisie selected, but it seems that the Turkish defender is finally not called.
This great international representation confirms the rise of the Eredivisie, which is becoming a talent pool for the world's biggest teams.
