Napoli wants to hit the domestic market hard by armouring Scott McTominay. A true Neapolitan midfielder, the Scottish international – currently in preparation with his selection for the World Cup – has established himself as a leader under the azzurro jersey. Since his arrival, McTominay has accumulated 80 appearances in two years, all competitions combined, and scored 27 goals (13 in the first season, 14 in the second), a remarkable record for a midfield of
field.

The relationship between the player and the club has intensified, with McTominay recently saying that he has "finally blossomed into his natural role as a mezzala", allowing him to fully exploit his offensive and defensive qualities. The arrival of Massimiliano Allegri on the bench is seen as an ideal continuity, and the Napoli
wants to send a strong signal by keeping one of its key men.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, an additional five-year contract – until 2030 – accompanied by a salary increase of around five million euros per year is ready to be signed. Enough to strengthen McTominay at the centre of the Neapolitan project for the coming seasons.
