In a highly anticipated Saudi Professional League clash, Al Hilal declared their superiority by winning 3-2 against Al-Ittihad on Saturday evening in the Saudi Clásico. This meeting confirmed the rise in power of the Riyadh club, now leader of the championship, thanks to a dynamic driven by recent summer recruits, notably the Dutch internationals.
The Al Hilal club initially lined up Crysencio Summerville, the Oranje right winger, who justified his tenure by making a real offensive contribution. On the visitors' side, we found Steven Bergwijn from the kick-off, accompanied in the second half by Georginio Wijnaldum, who entered after returning from the locker room.
From the first minutes, the spectacle was assured with Al Hilal quickly opening the score thanks to a goal from Gabriel Martinelli, confirmed as one of the major recruits of the summer, followed shortly after by Ollie Watkins. Opposite, Youssef En-Nesyri, scorer for Al-Ittihad, managed to tie his team, maintaining the tension around the match.
Crysencio Summerville scored a key goal, his curling shot from the left wing finding the far corner to give his team a 3-1 lead. This action underlined his rapid adaptation to the championship and his importance within the Al Hilal attack. Later, Steven Bergwijn reduced the gap from the penalty spot, but could not prevent his team's defeat.

This performance strengthens the stature of the team and validates the investments made during the transfer window with gigantic transfers of around 130 million euros for Martinelli and Watkins, and nearly 65 million euros for Summerville.
Al Hilal therefore took over from Al Qadsiah, where Tijjani Reijnders plays, at the head of the ranking. This success in the Saudi Clásico sends a strong message in the title race and promises an exciting continuation of the championship.
The strategic importance of this meeting also comes from the fact that it pits two of the biggest Saudi clubs against each other, marking a turning point in this season where the transfer window has considerably strengthened the Saudi League, attracting international and notably Dutch talents such as Summerville, Bergwijn and Wijnaldum.
This victory for Al Hilal confirms their ambition to dominate the local competition and shine again on the Asian continental scene.
