Coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed the bad news to the media, without hiding his concern. "It doesn't look good." He was taken to hospital and will undergo tests. We have to wait for the final diagnosis to know whether he will be able to play at the World Cup or whether we will be forced to call up a replacement,” Nagelsmann said.

The German team is now awaiting the results of medical examinations, in particular the MRI which will clarify the extent of the injury. If the worst is confirmed, sports management will have to quickly modify its official list and find a solution to compensate for the potential absence of a defensive rotation option.
