Arsenal ready to go on the offensive for Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle)

Arsenal are targeting Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle) to strengthen their midfield and are preparing a proposal after probing his contractual situation. The Brazilian, currently mobilized with the selection for the World Cup, is a priority, but the London club is also exploring other options. Newcastle, however, wish to keep their captain, while Arsenal are evaluating other profiles, including Sandro Tonali and Alex Scott.
Arsenal are set to step up their transfer window by making an offer for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. After having held exploratory discussions with the representatives of the Brazilian player as well as those of his teammate Sandro Tonali, the London club wishes to strengthen its central sector as the next season approaches.
The discussions allowed Arsenal to obtain an estimate of the amount requested for Bruno Guimaraes, around 70 million euros (around 60 million pounds). However, according to sources close to the matter, Newcastle do not wish to part with their captain, whose contract runs until 2026 and who remains a key element of the squad. The Brazilian, currently engaged with his selection at the World Cup, is focusing on his international campaign, while his future at club attracts many eyes.

At the same time, Arsenal have also surveyed Sandro Tonali's entourage, but are only looking for one major central midfielder on the market. Other profiles are also being considered by the Gunners recruitment unit, such as Alex Scott (Bournemouth), Ayyoub Bouaddi (Lille) and Mateus Fernandes (West Ham). Manchester City are reportedly closely monitoring the situation of Tonali, who is under a long-term contract with Newcastle despite his recent suspension.
In this context, Newcastle have already rejected a significant offer from Tottenham for Tonali and are considering demanding a sum in excess of €90 million if new suitors come forward. Competition in the midfielder market remains intense: Manchester City recently reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson, while West Ham are demanding up to €80 million for Mateus Fernandes.
Finally, the recruitment of a new midfielder could lead to the departure of a current player with the Gunners, Christian Norgaard, for whom Arsenal would be open to offers. Martin Zubimendi's role in Mikel Arteta's starting XI could also be reassessed if he arrives in this sector of play this summer.
