CAN C: Paolo Dondarini favorite to succeed Daniele Orsato

Paolo Dondarini, former international referee and president of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Arbitration Committee, appears to be the favorite to lead CAN C, in the event of Daniele Orsato's promotion to CAN A and B. The decisions will be made official on July 7 by the AIA.
Paolo Dondarini is the main candidate to take charge of the Serie C National Referees Commission (CAN C). The information, reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, places the former international referee in pole position to succeed Daniele Orsato.
Currently president of the Comitato Regionale Arbitri of Emilia-Romagna and affiliated with the AIA section of Finale Emilia, Dondarini has a proven track record in refereeing that would make him the preferred choice to lead the officials of Italy's third division.

The probable departure of Orsato to CAN A and B would explain this movement: after a single season at the head of Serie C referees, the Venetian referee is among the names most cited to become the new designator of matches in the national championships of first instance, thus succeeding the structure currently coordinated by Gianluca Rocchi.
The Association Italiana Arbitri has set July 7 as the date for official nominations. The final decision will fall to the new technical director, Domenico Messina, responsible for designing the organization of the national technical bodies for the 2026-2027 season.
