Dibu Martínez at Juve even with Carnevali: Gianluca Di Marzio's point

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Giovanni Carnevali, called to become the new managing director of Juventus, would make Dibu Martínez his number one objective to mark the start of a new bianconero cycle. The world champion goalkeeper with Argentina would be appreciated by Carnevali, who sees in him a “profile” bringing charisma, personality and leadership to a group in reconstruction.

Di Marzio specifies that relations between Juventus and Martínez's agents are already solid: these same representatives were involved last year in the operation which brought Nemanja Matić to Sassuolo, which creates a precedent and facilitates discussions. Still according to the journalist, Martínez already feels “virtually” from Turin and is even looking for accommodation in Turin, a sign of his desire to play at Juventus and win something again in Europe.

The trail is not without obstacles. Juventus has studied alternatives – let us cite Jan Oblak – because the club still does not know the evaluation that Aston Villa will make for its goalkeeper. Aston Villa would be faced with a dilemma: ask for a lot to retain Martínez or agree to negotiate favorable terms, possibly with compensation including bonuses, in recognition of the service rendered to the club.

For Carnevali, Dibu Martínez would represent the inaugural “stunt” in a series of operations aimed at reshaping the squad. Di Marzio mentions other names present on the juvenile tablets: Alexander Sørloth, Randal Kolo Muani and Davide Lucumì. The formalization of Carnevali's role is expected on Monday, from which time his sporting project should be implemented in a more concrete way.

Gianluca Di Marzio concludes that, given the desire displayed by the player and the good relationship with his representatives, Juventus believes they have an advantage in convincing Dibu Martínez – who could therefore become the first big reinforcement of the new bianconero cycle.
