Edin Terzic reveals his technical staff to start at Athletic Bilbao

Edin Terzic is preparing to start his first season at the head of Athletic Bilbao from July 6, the date of the start of the pre-season marked by medical and physical tests. For this adventure, the German coach surrounded himself with a solid and experienced technical staff. Among his collaborators, we find Sebastian Geppert, his faithful assistant since their two years together at Borussia Dortmund. Geppert, 42, will also take on the role of head of analytical monitoring. He spent almost ten years at the German club, where he managed the youth teams for eight years, training many players who progressed through the ranks to the professional group.

Another key element of this staff is Peter Gaydarov, 35, recruited from the youth teams of Bayern Munich, where he coached the U19s and the team involved in the Youth League. Gaydarov will be an assistant while managing the physical preparation and transition of young players within the Lezama training center.

The big news in this group is the return of Oscar de Marcos, a personal choice of Edin Terzic. The former Athletic captain, who retired from playing last year, joins the staff to oversee individual player development as well as locker room dynamics. Returning a year after hanging up his crampons, de Marcos remains an emblematic figure of the club and notably succeeded Iker Muniain as captain during his last season, before passing the armband to Iñaki Williams. He maintains close ties with the family of the Ghanaian international player, a valuable asset for team cohesion.
