Everton's strategy consists of increasing the number of events at Hill Dickinson Stadium to generate additional income and support recruitment. Evenings dedicated to the World Cup and other events make it possible to attract supporters while participating in the financial effort of the transfer window, all without losing the DNA of the club.
Speaking on BBC Radio Merseyside, Andy Duckmanton, Everton's marketing and digital director, spoke of the importance of the events organized at Hill Dickinson Stadium in supporting the club's ambitions, particularly in the transfer market. “We wanted to create a world-class venue and this offers the possibility of hosting it all year round,” he explains.
This summer, the stadium will host various gatherings, including special evenings to follow the World Cup and encourage the players of the English team, starting with Jordan Pickford, the Everton goalkeeper. For Duckmanton, the World Cup is not just a sporting event, but a real moment of conviviality for the supporters: “The times are special, with evening matches from the United States. We therefore decided to open our spaces and bars to allow fans to experience these meetings together. We hope to receive more than 400 Evertonians during each broadcast, and we are ready to extend these evenings until the final if England go all the way. »

But beyond just emotion, these initiatives have strategic importance. The income generated by the numerous events, whether football evenings or other activities, is partly used to finance recruitment: “We are now governed by strict rules regarding sustainability and what we can spend on transfers. It’s up to us to generate additional revenue to provide a competitive advantage to the team. »
Duckmanton nevertheless insists on the need to preserve the soul of the club at the heart of this diversification: “At each event, we make sure to integrate the values of Everton. We do not want to lose our identity and remain above all a football club, not simply a welcoming place. We promote Everton and the city of Liverpool to the whole world. »
