Ferran Torres, under contract at Barcelona until the summer of 2025, is due to visit Paris this week for discussions regarding a transfer to PSG, says Gerard Romero. Barça would aim for at least 50 million euros.
Why it matters
The potential move of Ferran Torres to PSG could have significant repercussions on the transfer market, particularly regarding the movements of other strikers in La Liga and Ligue 1. With an estimated value of at least €50 million, this transfer could also influence the buying strategies of rival clubs in the quest for attacking reinforcements. Additionally, Torres' recent performance at the World Cup has boosted his appeal, highlighting the importance of his development as a key player.
Context
Ferran Torres, currently under contract with FC Barcelona until the summer of 2025, has seen his value increase thanks to his recent performances. His potential move to PSG could represent a major change in his career and transfer market dynamics, especially considering the growing interest from top clubs in La Liga talent.
Key points
- Ferran Torres expected in Paris this week before possible.
- Ferran Torres, under contract at Barcelona until the summer of 2025, is due to visit Paris this week for talks over a move to PSG, says Gerard Romero.
- Barcelona forward set to visit Paris this week ahead of a potential move to PSG.
Several elements make this file delicate. First, Ferran's sporting value has increased since his performances during the last World Cup, which explains the expressed interest of Parisians. Then, Barcelona does not plan to sell off its player: the reports mention a Catalan demand of at least 50 million euros, while there is only one season left on the contract of the native of Foios.
If the trip to Paris is interpreted as the player's desire to move forward in discussions, it does not guarantee an imminent agreement. Contract negotiations are ultimately the responsibility of the player's representatives - agents and managers - and, according to the same sources, PSG has not yet made an official offer. Ferran's arrival could therefore be used for personal interviews or to finalize non-contractual aspects before the clubs begin formal discussions.

The player's personal calendar adds a time constraint: Ferran is expected to resume training at FC Barcelona on August 12. It would therefore be logical for him to take advantage of this week to settle administrative aspects or agree on the main lines before returning to Catalonia.
Sportingly, the possible departure of Ferran would also be part of Barça's strategy on the market. The Catalan club, which has clear offensive ambitions, sees a sale of its number as a partial solution to its summer reinforcement files. Reports cited by the source mention the leads leading to Julián Álvarez and Rodri: Barcelona's initial offer for Rodri was reportedly turned down by Manchester City, and the Spanish club are reportedly planning to improve their proposal. The amount expected for Ferran could therefore help finance these operations.
It remains to be seen whether PSG will accept the financial conditions requested by Barcelona and whether a formal offer will be submitted in the coming days. For the moment, Ferran's announced visit to Paris is fueling the rumor and laying the first stone of a file which could accelerate in the very short term.
The rest
Ferran Torres is expected in Paris for discussions which could be decisive for his future. Although negotiations are ongoing, it is essential to note that PSG have not yet submitted an official offer, and FC Barcelona remain firm on their demands. The next steps will depend on the results of these talks and the willingness of both clubs to reach an agreement before the end of the summer transfer window.
