Fiorentina: Radu Dragusin undergoes his medical examinations, transfer

Radu Dragusin, ex-Tottenham defender, is preparing to join Fiorentina. Arriving in Florence this morning, he is currently undergoing his medical examination to finalize a loan which could lead to a permanent transfer depending on his performance.
Lacking playing time at Tottenham, with whom he joined the Premier League during the last winter transfer window, Dragusin chose to relaunch his career in Serie A, a championship he already knows having worn the colors of Juventus and Genoa in previous seasons. This transalpine experience undoubtedly weighed in the decision of Fiorentina, still looking for stability and reinforcements in the defensive axis after a contrasting 2023-2024 season.

Concretely, the agreement between Fiorentina and Tottenham provides for a one-year loan with an obligation to purchase subject to certain sporting conditions. If Dragusin plays at least 22 matches of at least 45 minutes each, the loan will turn into a permanent transfer for a total amount of 17.5 million euros (1.5 million for the initial loan and an additional 16 million if the option is exercised). The player could then commit to Tuscany until June 30, 2031, with a salary estimated at nearly 2 million euros net per season.
This movement shows the Florentine club's desire to strengthen itself for the next Serie A season, where competition remains fierce, and to once again aim for qualification in European cups. For Dragusin, this is a new challenge: prove his value at the highest level, earn his starting place, and why not establish himself as a pillar of the purple defense in the long term.
