Florentino Pérez doesn't want Rodri at Real Madrid, says Matteo Moretto

While Enrique Riquelme targets Rodri as his flagship transfer, Matteo Moretto reports that Florentino Pérez does not plan to recruit the Manchester City midfielder and prefers to direct the project towards younger players like João Neves or Vitinha.
Enrique Riquelme has already outlined the outline of his sporting project in the event of his return to the presidency of Real Madrid. Among the priorities mentioned by the candidate is Manchester City midfielder Rodri, a player regularly cited among the best in his position in recent seasons.
However, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, the current management led by Florentino Pérez does not have the same approach. Moretto claims that Pérez “does not want” Rodri at Real and that, if Pérez remains in charge, a transfer from the Mancunian midfielder will not happen. The Madrid president would favor a long-term project rather than recruitment designed as a temporary short-term solution.
Riquelme for his part would have positioned Rodri as his major move, going so far as to inform Manchester City of his intention to target him in the event of an election. But the divergence of views between the two presidential projects is clear: Riquelme plays the card of an experienced recruit to strengthen the midfield, while Pérez would look for younger profiles with high potential.
Among the names mentioned who correspond to this philosophy is João Neves, a player for whom Pérez would display a certain admiration and who would be one of the options considered. Vitinha is also mentioned as an alternative track, despite its older age compared to a purely "youth" project. Both players are under contract at Paris Saint-Germain, where their sporting importance complicates any operation: the French club obviously does not wish to part with these elements, whatever the offers.
Concretely, the panorama drawn by this information shows a possible divide between a management team attached to a long-term vision and a candidate ready to bet on a strong and immediate transfer to attract socios. It remains to be seen what decisions will be taken if the presidential election were to offer a new mandate to one or the other.
