Florentino Pérez ready to offer €150 million: Vitinha highlighted as big favorite
By OnzeActu · · 3 min read
During a televised intervention, Florentino Pérez promised to make a “significant offer” of around 150 million on Tuesday for a very high level player. The Madrid president gave clues by excluding several names and championships; the Spanish press cites Vitinha (PSG) as favorite, with Joao Neves as an alternative.
Florentino Pérez announces record offer
The electoral campaign at Real Madrid has turned into a transfer soap opera. Faced with his rival Enrique Riquelme, who had promised to seek out Erling Haaland, Florentino Pérez – largely given as a favorite for re-election – has made a number of spectacular announcements. After having mentioned the return of José Mourinho as coach and the already recorded arrivals of Konaté and Dumfries, Pérez announced last night, live on television, that he was going to launch a major offer.
“I have some news to share. On Tuesday I will make a significant offer to a Champions League club for a top player. This would be the highest sum ever paid by Real Madrid for a transfer. It would be around 150 million euros. A clue? I can’t give you any, I’m just telling you what we’re going to do,” said the Madrid president.
Clues and exclusions
Perez went further by giving details to cover his tracks: he denied certain names and even a championship. “Olise is a great player, but he’s not Olise. It's not Doku either... We will make a big offer, at least 150 million. Ideally this would be a midfielder or a striker. And it's not Haaland. He doesn't come from the Premier League. The first thing we will do is speak with the club. It’s a purchase designed to generate enthusiasm. »
Vitinha tops predictions
According to the Spanish press, the targeted player would be Vitinha. The Portuguese midfielder, born in 2000, is regularly presented as one of the executives of Paris Saint-Germain: "He was the thinking head of this PSG which, according to the text, would have won the Champions League in the last two years", reports the article at the origin of the information. Journalist Pacojó Delgado, on Cadena SER, also underlined the role of agents in this type of operation: “Do you really believe that Jorge Mendes would not put his best player at José Mourinho's disposal, if possible? »

Contract and clause: obstacles
Vitinha still has three years of contract with PSG. The press also mentions the existence of a clause exceeding 100 million euros which, if activated, would complicate any maneuver by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
Other leads and reactions
In Spain, other names are circulating behind the scenes. The daily AS is skeptical about Pérez's statements and, to everyone's surprise, mentions the name of Olise, now associated with Bayern according to certain rumors. On the networks, several supporters have also imagined other targets like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. For the most credible Iberian media, the main alternative to Vitinha would however be his compatriot and teammate Joao Neves, recruited by PSG in the summer of 2024 for 70 million euros and quickly propelled as a major element of Luis Enrique's squad.
To be continued
Florentino Pérez has set the date: Tuesday should clear up – or smoke up – the summer market. Until then, speculation is rife around a transfer which, if it materializes, would mark the recent history of Real Madrid.
