Frosinone: Castagnini details the transfer window and aims to complete arrivals before the internship

The sporting director of Frosinone, Renzo Castagnini, outlined the main lines of the summer transfer window for the promoted club, specifying that it will take place in three stages. “The first phase will consist of providing the coach with two players per position to get the preparation off to a good start,” explained Castagnini, present alongside general manager Piero Doronzo, during the presentation of the new features of the subscription campaign.

Currently, the squad has 17 players. “With the exception of Gori, who we are considering loaning out after a difficult season, the squad is almost complete.” The second phase, running from July 11 to August 16, will be dedicated to more important operations in order to adapt the team to the championship. Finally, a final phase will be used to study possible adjustments.

Regarding the priority areas, Castagnini focused on Calvani, Raimondo and Cittadini: "The discussions are well advanced and our objective is to finalize these files before the preparation camp. The official transfer window began three days ago, and until now, the clubs were taking the time to assess the situations. For these players, we are confident of concluding before July 11. On the midfield, operations are well underway, as are on the wings where we hope to complete before the start of the course."

Regarding Ghedjemis, the sporting director said: "The president has been clear, he is no longer a necessity for the team. No official offer has been received, but we are ready to keep him if necessary." On departures, few decisions have been made because the focus is primarily on arrivals. “If offers come in, we will consider them.”

On the collaboration with the new investors, Castagnini is positive: "There is a great relationship of trust, which makes me even more responsible. They bring a new, but useful, work system. We always work as a team, never individually."

Concerning certain players like Fiori, Di Nardo, or Palmisani, the sporting director was cautious: "For Fiori, the negotiations are closed, but other files are to come. Antonio Di Nardo is one of the players monitored, like others, but for the moment, it is a simple observation. As for Palmisani, he is a valuable player of whom we are proud, but for the moment, only rumors are circulating without formal contact."

Finally, regarding recruitment, Castagnini was keen to clarify: "I do not evaluate players based on their salary or their past, but only on their ability to be functional for the team. Last year, this approach was successful for us. We must also take into account the players already present and maintain the balance of the squad."
