Giovanni Malagò takes the helm of the FIGC with the desire to revitalize Italian football. The appointment of Giovanni Malagò as president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) revives hopes of seeing Italian football regain its glory. During an intervention on the TMW News show, the challenges of his mandate were analyzed with Rosario Rampanti, who detailed the challenges awaiting the new leader.
One of Malagò's immediate priorities is the establishment of a new technical organization. The strategic position of technical director should be filled in the coming days. Major figures in Italian football are already circulating to fill this key role, including Paolo Maldini, whose appointment still depends on his acceptance. The future technical director will notably have the difficult task of appointing the next coach of the Nazionale.

The names put forward to take over the national team are those of Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini, two experienced technicians capable of restoring sporting ambition to the Squadra Azzurra. Malagò also wishes to instill a collective dynamic and strengthen the personality of the management team.
Among his priority areas, he highlights the need to restore constructive relations with certain important political actors, believing that institutional dialogue will be decisive in supporting the reform of the structures of Italian football. “Compacting the team, offering personality and establishing a real technical and sporting project: these are crucial steps,” he confided. He insists on the urgency of reforms, while pointing out the little time he has, with a mandate to be carried out vigorously. Finally, Malagò underlines that the structural problems of Italian football require concrete and rapid responses in order to breathe new dynamics into calcio.
