Gueye has had enough and now refuses to play for Senegal under the current staff

After the dramatic defeat against Belgium, Pape Gueye announced that he was taking a break from Senegal as long as the current technical staff is in place, denouncing the management of the match.
Pape Gueye announced via social networks that he was taking “a break” with the Senegal national team, following the elimination of the Lions against Belgium at the World Cup. The 27-year-old midfielder did not mince his words and directly targeted the technical staff of the selection.
“I will later give some explanations regarding the elimination, but I am announcing today that I am taking a break from the selection under the current technical staff,” wrote Gueye, according to the message relayed by the media.

The decision comes after the meeting in Seattle, during which Gueye was replaced in the 66th minute by coach Pape Thiaw while Senegal was still leading 0-2. Belgium finally came back to score at the end of the match thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans, before the latter sent the Red Devils into the lead at the end of the second extra time from the penalty spot in added time.
The Senegalese staff and the management of the federation have not yet published an official reaction to this announcement. Gueye's future with the selection appears uncertain as long as the current staff configuration remains in place.
According to the match report, Youri Tielemans – presented as a Villarreal player in the relayed information – scored twice at the World Cup. The text also specifies that he has 45 selections and that he previously played for Olympique de Marseille, Seville and Le Havre.
