Paris Saint-Germain achieved a resounding, historic victory in the Champions League. Traveling to Villarreal, a renowned Spanish team, PSG inflicted a dry defeat of 6-0, thus setting a record: the heaviest home defeat in all of European history for a Spanish club, in 1780 matches on its ground.
This exceptional domination was reflected very early in the match, as the Parisians scored four times in just 16 minutes and 2 seconds, setting the record for the fastest quadruple in the competition. This dazzling start completely destabilized Villarreal and stifled any hint of reaction.
However, the context was delicate for PSG, deprived of several major executives such as Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé. A situation which could have weakened Parisian intentions, but Luis Enrique was able to demonstrate that collective strength takes precedence over the simple presence of stars. Young people and replacements like Zabarni, Lucas Hernandez, Aklouche, Godets and even the young prodigy David Boli, aged 17, seized their chance and even Boli scored his first goal in C1 during his baptism of fire.

The coach also highlighted the respect shown by his players towards their opponents throughout the match, a sign of maturity and humility.
