I am from Ceuta and seeing my land in this state makes me extremely sad. Nearly fifty days after the invasion of my city, the pain remains strong and I can no longer remain silent. I write so that everyone knows what I think, what I feel and how much the situation weighs on us, the people of Ceuta.

I am proud to be Ceutien, I have family and great friends there. What my compatriots are experiencing touches me deeply. To say that the “caballas” are not united is an absurdity: those who make such comments completely misunderstand our reality. It would be better, for those who want to give lessons, to open their door and welcome a few people if solidarity is really important to them.

I don't understand why the President of the Government is going on vacation and not coming to see first-hand the human drama unfolding here. I have the impression that the State has abandoned Ceuta and that this failure will leave its mark, at least on a moral level. Responses and concrete measures will be needed to restore order and calm minds, but above all to restore the dignity of those affected by this crisis.

In this context, I would like to salute the commitment of those who, on a daily basis, show themselves close to the inhabitants: I sincerely thank Jesús Vivas and the socialist deputy Melchor León for their efforts and their dedication to their land and their people.
