On the side of Al-Nassr, the departure of Duran is part of a transfer window where numerous movements have concerned reinforced squads in recent seasons. The Saudi championship, which has become financially attractive, however, sees some of its elements return to Europe when the opportunity to find a historic club and a continental competition presents itself.
Benfica, which has a strong tradition of developing and reselling players, should offer Duran a favorable framework to relaunch its sporting trajectory. Without public details on the financial terms or the duration of the contract, the operation remains for the moment confirmed by specialized journalistic sources but not officially detailed by the clubs.
This signing illustrates a frequent trend: players pass through Saudi Arabia then return to Europe to continue their sporting careers in championships offering more competitive challenges. It now remains to be seen how Duran will fit into the Lisbon group and what place the coach will reserve for him, while Benfica regularly aims for national excellence and a strong presence in European competitions.
Supporters and observers will closely follow the player's first appearances in the red and white jersey, which will mark the real start of this new chapter in his career.
