Kylian Mbappé, the new star of Real Madrid, continues to make headlines, this time for his express return to competition after a worrying episode concerning his knee. Arriving this morning at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport, the French world champion immediately joined the Spanish capital in the company of his partner, in order to continue his recovery protocol.
Mbappé did not show up for the morning training session at Valdebebas, Madrid's training center, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. But he is expected at the center during the day to resume progressive rehabilitation under the supervision of medical staff. Hit in the left knee during the French team's first match under the orders of Zinedine Zidane, Mbappé scored the only goal of the match before feeling pain, pushing him to request an immediate replacement.
The first examinations carried out in Madrid were intended to be cautious: it was a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of the left knee. An alert that is all the more worrying as this same knee had already seriously handicapped him the previous season. The Madrid leaders and the medical staff then adopted the greatest caution, prescribing a week of rest under the “active rest” mode oriented to recovery, in close consultation with the player and his supervisors.

The fear of a serious relapse requiring an operation was quickly ruled out thanks to additional examinations. Madrid coach José Mourinho can therefore breathe easy: Mbappé will rejoin the squad in the coming days and should even start for the highly anticipated match against Villarreal, scheduled for October 10.
This return comes at the right time for the Merengue club, currently six points behind FC Barcelona in La Liga and in search of revival as a pivotal period of the season approaches. Author of eight goals since the start of the season, the captain of the Blues remains one of Mourinho's major assets in reversing the dynamic and getting closer to the top of the Spanish rankings.
In Madrid, it is time for optimism. Medical management, combined with individual player management, seems to be bearing fruit. The public and the community now hope that Mbappé will be able to quickly regain all his means to make the difference during the meeting against Villarreal, a crucial confrontation for the rest of the championship.
