Roma in negotiations with Marseille for Mason Greenwood

Roma continue their efforts to recruit Mason Greenwood this summer, but face competition from Tottenham. The Italian club is seeking to complete the deal before the end of the month, in line with Marseille's obligations to sell.
Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini has placed Mason Greenwood at the top of his priorities for next season's transfer window. Despite the strong interest, there is no shortage of competition, particularly with Tottenham who have recently positioned themselves with insistence. Building on its personal agreement with the player, Roma is actively working to complete the transfer, but must accelerate the pace in the face of growing interest from Spurs.
Greenwood, born in 2001, has returned to his best level under the management of Roberto De Zerbi in Marseille, where he is on loan. However, according to information from Fabrizio Romano, the Italian coach does not want to see the player return to the Premier League. As a result, a serious competitor to Roma has withdrawn from the file, thus paving the way for faster progress for the Giallorossi.

Roma, who now benefit from a waiver to immediately integrate Tony D'Amico, are also focusing on contract renewal and settling UEFA accounts through transfers. The Greenwood file must be finalized before June 30, the deadline imposed by the financial settlement agreement in which Marseille is forced to sell.
According to the latest sources, this is the player who is pushing to join Gian Piero Gasperini's training. Furthermore, the owners Friedkin plan to publicly break with Marseille in order to obtain a reduction in the price, with OM maintaining a requirement of at least 50 million euros to sell their player.
