Mason Greenwood favors AS Roma despite significant offers from Fenerbahçe and Al-Hilal

Mason Greenwood has decided: he wants to sign for AS Roma. Despite very generous financial offers from Fenerbahçe and the Saudi club Al-Hilal, the English striker informed Gian Piero Gasperini and owner Ryan Friedkin that his choice remained the Giallorossi sporting project. However, Greenwood remains patient, but time is against Roma, who must quickly conclude this file so as not to lose their player. According to Corriere dello Sport, Greenwood would like to start summer preparation with his new club, which requires a rapid resolution of the transfer, ideally in the first ten days of July.

For its part, AS Roma is preparing an offer of between 45 and 50 million euros, potentially spread over several payments. This strategy aims to respect the financial deadline of June 30 imposed by Olympique de Marseille, while approaching its initial request set at 55 million. The latter is complicated by a clause obliging Marseille to pay 40% of the sum to Manchester United. Competition is getting tougher quickly, reports Tuttosport. Fenerbahçe has also submitted a spectacular salary offer, to the tune of 12 million euros per season in fixed salary, increased by a significant system of bonuses linked to individual performances (goals, assists), qualification for the Champions League and titles won. However, their proposal of 35 million in transfer compensation was rejected by Marseille, deemed insufficient.

For its part, Al-Hilal is ready to offer amounts well beyond market standards, both for the club and for the player. Despite these financial advantages, Greenwood is not seduced by the Turkish or Saudi proposals. At 24, at the peak of his career, he wants to play in a European club competing in the Champions League, which could boost his chances of returning to the English team. Gasperini's tactical system, in which he would occupy a central place, offers him precisely this sporting platform of excellence.
