In an interview with La Stampa, Paola Ferrari defends herself from criticism of her physique, claims her outspokenness and recalls having been the first woman to host a program devoted to football.
Paola Ferrari, historic face of Rai 1 and present these days around the broadcasts of the 2026 World Cups, spoke out in the face of the numerous attacks directed against her appearance. In an interview with the daily La Stampa, the journalist refused to be affected by the criticism.
“I was subjected to all the meanness: to hurt me, you will have to invent better ones,” declared Ferrari, who owns his outspokenness. “I feel more like the Selvaggia Lucarelli of football, with all respect to Selvaggia, because I don't mince my words and I always say what I think. »
The presenter believes she has been receiving derogatory remarks for years. “I've been criticized for a long time, often it's just a lack of respect, like what I read about the Worlds,” she added.

Paola Ferrari also looked back on her television debut. She said she was offered entertainment shows in part because of her looks, but she didn't want to limit herself to "covers." “I wanted to make my voice heard: to be listened to for my ideas,” she explains.
She also recalls having opened a door for women in the world of televised football: “I was the first woman to present a football show. Today, we finally have a woman – the very talented Tiziana Alla – who comments on matches, but only one… Football still remains a male domain. »
