Parma: Oristanio back in Venice, but will have to find a new team

Little used and far from expectations, Gaetano Oristanio should return from his loan to Parma and find Venice. The Emilian club does not seem willing to exercise the purchase option at €8.5 million. A new solution – loan or transfer – is expected for the 2002 striker.
Gaetano Oristanio will likely make his return to Venice after a season below expectations at Parma. According to information collected by our editorial staff, the gialloblu club should not activate the purchase option linked to his loan, which will result in the player's return to the Venetian club.
Parma had a buy-back right set at €8.5 million, with Venice retaining a percentage of any future resale. It remains to be seen whether Parma will attempt to renegotiate this amount or whether both parties will favor the option of a new loan. What seems certain, however, is that Oristanio's chapter in Venice is most likely closed and that the player, born in 2002, will have to look for another destination.
Venice had bought Oristanio permanently from Inter two seasons ago, banking on him to return to Serie A. The native of Ferrara showed great qualities especially during the first segment of the season, before showing a clear decline in the second half of the year. At the end of the season, however, the player expressed his desire to stay in Serie A, refusing to go down to the lower category.

On a sporting level, Oristanio has only scored one goal this season. Small physical problems caused him to miss a few matches and he was unable to impose himself in coach Cuesta's 3-5-2.
Meanwhile, in Serie B, John Yeboah has exploded in his position and even earned a World Cup call-up, further complicating Oristanio's prospects of a place in Venice. The Venetian club would thus study the possibility of a young profile to come and support its Ecuadorian number 10 rather than keeping Oristanio.
Result: return to Venice in sight for Oristanio, but total uncertainty about his future. A new loan or a transfer to another club will be expected this summer.
