Patrick Glöckner named Eintracht Frankfurt reserve coach after Dennis Schmitt leaves

Dennis Schmitt leaves his post as coach of Eintracht Frankfurt II after two years marked by the rise to the Regionalliga. He is replaced by Patrick Glöckner, well known to the club, who takes charge of the training of young talents.
Thunderbolt within the Eintracht Frankfurt reserve team: Dennis Schmitt has decided to put an end to his adventure after two intense seasons. Arriving two years ago from Paderborn, Schmitt succeeded Kristjan Glibo, then managed to bring the team back to the Regionalliga after the relegation suffered in the summer of 2025.
Very grateful to the club, Schmitt spoke about his departure: “I look with great gratitude at the progress made in Frankfurt. The club allowed me to progress as a coach, to obtain my UEFA Pro license and to understand the professional world alongside the Bundesliga group and in the Champions League." He also took over as interim member of the first team after the departure of Dino Toppmöller.

During his tenure, Dennis Schmitt saw five youngsters from the reserves land professional contracts, including Kaan Inanoglu (Dynamo Dresden), Daniel Starodid (Alemannia Aachen) and Noah Fenyö (Ujpest FC).
The club immediately made its successor official: it is Patrick Glöckner, a former player and well-known trainer in Frankfurt. Aged 49, who recently played for TSV 1860 Munich in the 3. Liga, Glöckner returns to SGE to continue the development of young talents. “With Patrick Glöckner, we have found a coach who has experience in training, but also with senior and professional teams,” said sports director Timmo Hardung.
Glöckner, for his part, approaches this new stage with enthusiasm: “Modeling and supporting young players has always been at the center of my coaching project. I know the identity of Eintracht, but each generation has its own needs and it is important to support each young person both on a sporting and human level. »
