Pio Esposito joins Meazza and Rivera after his goal against Luxembourg

Inter striker Francesco Pio Esposito gave Italy a 1-0 victory over Luxembourg. According to Opta, he is the third player to exceed three goals with the Italian selection before turning 21, after Meazza and Rivera.
Francesco Pio Esposito has achieved a good place in the prize list with the Nazionale. The Inter striker scored the only goal in Italy's 1-0 victory against Luxembourg on Wednesday, giving the team three valuable points.
According to Opta, reported on X, Esposito becomes only the third player to score more than three goals with the Italian national team before turning 21. He thus joins two icons of transalpine football: Giuseppe Meazza and Gianni Rivera.

Giuseppe Meazza remains a historical reference: top scorer in the history of Inter and second top scorer in the Italian selection with 33 goals in 63 matches, he was part of the Italian squads crowned world champions in 1934 and 1938 and won three Scudetti with Inter.
Gianni Rivera, AC Milan legend, scored 14 goals in 60 caps for Italy. He also won two European Cups (former Champion Club Cups) and three Italian championship titles with Milan, and is one of the players to have won a major title with the Nazionale.
Pio Esposito will celebrate his 21st birthday on June 28. This season, he has scored ten goals in 48 appearances in all competitions with Inter, and already has four goals in eight matches with the Italian selection.
