Possible turning point in Cosenza: the Rota Group submits an official offer to buy the club

A major step is being prepared within the Italian club Cosenza. The Rota Group has in fact presented a formal offer to Eugenio Guarascio, current owner, with a view to purchasing the Serie C club. This formal proposal, officially transmitted by certified electronic mail (PEC), marks a new chapter in the management of the rossoblù club. The Rota Group, well established locally and headed by Vincenzo Rota, has not only submitted a financial offer but also a detailed industrial plan which will now be analyzed by the advisors of the current management.

The news was also brought to the attention of Franz Caruso, the mayor of Cosenza, demonstrating the local importance of this potential transfer of ownership. This approach moves the simple expression of interest to a real official negotiation, as reported by the Italian media Tenonline.tv.

Now the reaction falls to Eugenio Guarascio and Rita Scalise, the club's general manager, who must decide whether they want to pursue this proposal. Guarascio has led the club since 2011, when he took over following the bankruptcy of Cosenza. The offer will be examined to assess whether it is in line with the real value of the club, as well as the solidity of the project presented.

The current management asked for 72 hours from this Wednesday morning to study the proposal. A possible meeting with the Rota Group could take place at the beginning of next week. This possible change at the top of the club is particularly expected, in a context where relations between the current management and the supporters are tense, marked by repeated protests. The local community is now hoping for the imminent departure of Eugenio Guarascio, who could thus end an era of more than ten years at the head of the club.
