After the penalty shootout between the Netherlands and Morocco, Anass Salah-Eddine took the time to encourage the players who had missed their attempt, both at the Atlas Lions and at Oranje. Morocco qualifies for the round of 16 and will face Canada on Saturday.
Anass Salah-Eddine walked across the pitch after the last failed attempt in the series of penalties between the Netherlands and Morocco to comfort the players concerned. Among them were Justin Kluivert, Quinten Timber and Crysencio Summerville, who missed their penalty for the Oranje and received encouraging words from the full-back who came on.
The session started well for the Dutch: Teun Koopmeiners opened the series by converting his shot, while Morocco fell behind initially after Neil El Aynaoui's failure. But the situation finally shifted in favor of the Atlas Lions.

Born in the Netherlands and trained at AZ then at Ajax, the defender, loaned this season to PSV, recognized the special aspect of the moment: “I played against friends,” he explained. He also confided his bitter feelings about the penalty lottery: “The penalty shootouts… We can really train every day, but what we experience here in the stadium cannot be repeated. Respect to the boys who went to shoot, and also to those who missed. I went to everyone, even to the Dutch team. I told them that they had the courage to go there and that they should be proud of it. »
Morocco therefore qualifies for the round of 16 and will face the host country, Canada, on Saturday.
