Thomas Frank rules out return to bench this summer after leaving Tottenham

Former Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has said he will not return to coaching until next season. Interviewed by the BBC, the Dane declared: “This summer is not the right time. » Sacked during last season after only nine months at the head of Spurs, Frank had nevertheless been cited in recent weeks among the favorites to replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace or for the vacant position at Fulham.

In a press release, he wanted to thank everyone who had supported him since his departure and explained his decision: “Leaving Tottenham allowed me to take a step back and reflect on my journey. Training requires total commitment and it is rare to be able to take a breather to learn and evolve. » He also wanted to underline the professionalism and potential of the London club: “From the outside, it may have seemed complicated when the results were not up to par. But from the inside you realize why this club is so special – surrounded by talented and dedicated people. I have no doubt that Tottenham have a bright future. »

While waiting to find a bench, Frank plans to devote time to his family and to perfect his knowledge, in particular by following other leaders in sport or in other fields. He will also participate in media coverage of the World Cup for Danish television and the BBC, while taking the opportunity to focus on events such as the Tour de France.

Despite several contacts since his departure from Tottenham in February, Thomas Frank prefers not to rush: “It is not the right time to return, but when it is, I will approach the next challenge with enthusiasm and determination. »
