A PSG supporter gets married on the day of the Champions League final and postpones the ceremony to follow the match

Jean-Baptiste, an unconditional supporter of Paris Saint-Germain, will experience a Saturday like no other: he is getting married on May 30, 2026, the same day as the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal in Budapest. Aware of the coincidence, he chose to slightly modify the organization of the day to be able to follow the match.

The wedding date was set for December, at a time when it did not seem obvious that Paris would immediately return to the final after winning the competition the previous season in Monaco against Inter. But over the course of the club's European journey, the sporting event and the private event ultimately fell on the same day.

Asked by RMC Sport, Jean-Baptiste explained that he did not think, when booking the date, that PSG would reach the final again: “I was in Monaco last year, my subconscious must have said to itself that for two years in a row it was impossible to return to the final. It was the next day that I thought about it seriously, telling myself that perhaps it was a mistake. »

Rather than postponing the wedding, he preferred to adjust the schedule: the start of the ceremony, initially scheduled for 7:00 p.m., was pushed back to 8:00 p.m. in order to fully follow the meeting, the kickoff of which is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. His future wife, Chloé, is also a supporter of the club managed by Luis Enrique.

Jean-Baptiste concluded with optimism: “PSG will win and we will all be happy”, adding a wink to his family and his partner: “Forza PSG, forza Chloé, my future wife, and kisses to my two children. »

A simple and friendly solution which will allow the couple - and undoubtedly some of the guests - to combine love and passion for football during a date which will remain memorable.
