Mercato: Inter dismisses Alaba and Maguire, favors Oumar Solet for his defense

Inter Milan intend to make the search for a top-level central defender a priority during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to information collected by Gazzetta dello Sport, sports director Piero Ausilio recently received two important proposals to strengthen this area. They are David Alaba, Austrian defender whose contract at Real Madrid is expiring, and Harry Maguire, historic defensive pillar of Manchester United.

However, the Italian club declined these two avenues, for the sake of financial management and sporting projects. Indeed, the high salaries of these players and their advanced age do not correspond to the Nerazzurra philosophy. The priority is to build a medium and long term project with younger players.

With this in mind, Oumar Solet is among the first targets for central defense. The player, currently at Udinese, has had an excellent season and would be valued at around 25 million euros. Furthermore, the profile of Evan Ndicka, Roma player, is being followed but the club sees him more as a potential replacement for Bastoni on the left side of the defense.

Double recruitment in defense is not excluded, and will depend on developments concerning Yann Bisseck, a young German defender from whom Inter Milan could part ways. The defense market therefore promises to be active for the Nerazzurri, with a clear desire to combine quality and youth.
