Pisa has just finalized the recruitment of right back Simone Zanon, after three successful seasons with Carrarese. The operation, valued at around one million euros, could also include attacker Nicholas Bonfanti as a technical counterpart.
Why it matters
The arrival of Simone Zanon at Pisa SC represents a strategic strengthening for the club, which aims to improve its performance in Serie B after a disappointing season. Zanon, with his experience at Carrarese, brings not only technical skills, but also valuable knowledge of the competition, having contributed to his former club's rise and maintenance in Serie B.

Simone Zanon, 23, has been a key player for Carrarese, boasting an impressive tally of 116 appearances, 7 goals and 17 assists. His move to Pisa could mark the start of a new stage in his career, as he prepares to take on the challenge of Serie B with an ambitious club.

According to information collected by TMW, the transfer was concluded for a sum close to one million euros paid to Carrarese. But the transaction does not stop there: it provides for the inclusion of a technical counterpart, namely the attacker Nicholas Bonfanti. The latter, after having worn the colors of different teams in Serie B and Serie C, is expected to join Carrarese in exchange. However, the transaction is not yet fully completed since the last agreement for Bonfanti would be missing. If this is lifted in the coming hours, the operation would become definitive.

On the Pisa side, the arrival of Simone Zanon is part of the club's desire to strengthen itself effectively after a season where the objective of accession to Serie A has further moved away. Paolo Bianco, the Nerazzurro coach, will be able to count on a complete player as soon as training resumes, capable of contributing as much defensively as offensively. For Zanon, a three-year contract awaits the native of Friuli, synonymous with confidence and long-term investment.
This movement adds to Pisa's ambitions on the transfer market, a sector of strategic activity as competition within the Italian Serie B continues to strengthen. The operation, still subject to final validation for Nicholas Bonfanti, attests to the desire of the two clubs to build over the long term and to focus on young and versatile profiles.
Serie B should thus have, from the start of the school year, a striking new face on its lawns, in the colors of Pisa. Nerazzurri supporters will be able to closely follow Zanon's first steps within a squad reshuffled to play leading roles this season.
