Newly appointed as head of Sampdoria, Bernardo Corradi spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport to look back on his professional career and discuss his new ambitions. The former striker, who notably spent time with Lazio and Parma, started the interview by looking back on his past at AC Milan, when he worked with Massimiliano Allegri.
“With Magnanelli, I took care of tactics and more specifically the offensive sector. We planned each session, from morning until the end of the day, before having regular dinners in the Arena district of Milan,” he says. Corradi is full of praise for Allegri: “He is a man of immense stature, with unparalleled management skills. Last year, he had to play a much broader role than that of coach to manage a complex situation in the locker room. On the field, his reading of the game is incredible. He gave me a lot, and when I called him to talk about my choice of Sampdoria, he simply said: 'go for it'. »
Looking back on his taking office with the Blucerchiati, Corradi measures the scope of the mission: “In Serie B, Sampdoria remains one of the most coveted benches. This summer, there are many new coaches in the division. I had several interviews before my appointment. Supporters expect commitment and passion, two values that my parents instilled in me. I will give everything I have. The club is going through a period of rebuilding after difficulties, but there is a huge desire to move forward. I was made very welcome and first impressions are excellent. »

Sampdoria, relegated from Serie A last season, aims to quickly return to the Italian elite. Under the leadership of Corradi and with experienced players like Insigne, the Genovese club hopes to play leading roles in Serie B this season.
