SC Heerenveen launches its preparation in a climate of serenity, while awaiting possible summer agitation

SC Heerenveen is the first Eredivisie club to begin its preparation for next season, in the middle of the World Cup. With little change in the workforce, however, management is preparing for a potentially hectic summer period.
At a time when the Dutch selection is playing its second World Cup match, SC Heerenveen is a pioneer in the Netherlands by beginning, under a radiant sun, its preparation for the new Eredivisie exercise. The team is currently relying on a group almost identical to that of last season.
For Johan Hansma, the sports director, this apparent calm could precede a period of great upheaval. “We blink and the holidays are already over, the players are back on the field,” he underlines, aware of the possible turmoil in the summer transfer market.

The restart took place in front of an audience welcomed by the club speaker, summarizing the general feeling of expectation mixed with enthusiasm for the restart. Heerenveen, who lost on May 21 in the semi-final of the play-offs for European qualification against Utrecht, therefore regained his standards, while the supporters had, in the meantime, turned their attention to the World Cup.
Even if the group has so far seen few changes, the club's management remains vigilant in the face of market developments. The next few weeks could well be marked by departures or arrivals, while the World Cup continues to punctuate the international scene.
