Roma dreams of Mason Greenwood: first contacts, but no offer to OM for the moment

While the summer transfer window has not yet really started, Roma are already refining their plans to strengthen their squad. According to the Italian press, the capital club is making the recruitment of an attacker a priority for Gian Piero Gasperini, with the ambition of increasing the offensive quality alongside Donyell Malen.

In this strategy, Mason Greenwood, the English striker from Olympique de Marseille, occupies a prominent place in the list of recruitment dreams. The Roman management has started exploratory contacts with the player's clan for several weeks in order to assess its desire to join Serie A and to measure the feasibility of the operation.

However, no official discussion or offer has yet been sent to OM. Roma is first awaiting agreement in principle from Greenwood before concretely opening the file with the Olympian management, chaired by Gregory Lorenzi. Relations between the two clubs are considered good, especially as OM must consider certain departures to balance its budget, which could facilitate a possible negotiation.

The Greenwood track is therefore serious, but the competition promises to be tough since at least several other European clubs are also monitoring the situation of the young striker. It remains to be seen whether Roma will be able to transform this dream into concrete action in the coming weeks.
